Yes! We were in Trunk Town….

The Elephant Effect is when past experiences prevent us from seeing and seizing present opportunities, just like circus elephants who stay restricted by a simple rope despite having the strength to break free.

It’s rooted in Learned Helplessness, when past experiences convince us something's impossible even when it's not.

But, Learned Helplessness isn't just about big & obvious limitations like ("I'll never be President" or “I couldn’t be a successful artist”).

It's those subtle thoughts like "I can't manage that project because of my dyslexia" or "I shouldn't speak up in meetings because I might mix up my words".

Rope-Spotting keeps you alert to these self-imposed limitations. It's about catching those moments when your history tries to write your future.

Think of it as your early warning system against learned limitations.
