Defying Yesterday's Gravity
Future Proof Tomorrow Today

We make fun of things we're afraid or ashamed of.
I remember being young and whenever someone talked about therapy, I'd recite some lame line I once heard a comic say…
Something about laying on a couch and paying someone to sell you back to you.
That was my 20's and early 30's. Mostly clueless and quick to judge.
Keyboard Cowboys
If you've ever taken the time to read the nasty stuff people write to content creators, those in the spotlight, or just normal folks expressing themselves online, you know venom comes from somewhere deep.
Being on the receiving end must be horrible and nothing to get used to.
Understanding that hurt people hurt people puts it in perspective.
When keyboard cowboys lash out, that's Yesterday's Gravity pulling them down, and them passing that pain to others.
The scary part?
We often don’t realize we’re in its Pull.
Yesterday's Gravity doesn't just affect anonymous online yahoos—it shapes all of us, including me.

Outdated
Yesterday's Gravity keeps us running on outdated software.
It's the weight of mistakes, outdated labels, and others' expectations.
It's the teacher who said we weren't trying hard enough, parents who couldn't understand why reading was so hard or classmates who laughed when we mixed up words.
Those moments still affect how we see ourselves today.
Has their perception of you remained frozen in time or is it your perception of their perception?
Family, Free Chicken Jobs and Festivals
My folks, before retirement, were brilliant educators.
My family, spread out around the globe in the UK, France, Africa, Canada and the US, has doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers and engineers.
But coming up, I couldn't aspire to anything more than Free Chicken part-time jobs because that's all I saw in myself.
Low pay, disposable, sociable - but not too bright.
That limited version of myself was my identity—a mask I wore long after the festival ended.
Addition Through Subtraction
Personal evolution isn't always about adding more skills, more knowledge, more masks to wear to the ball.
Sometimes it's about shedding what no longer serves you.
But, how can we let go of stories that cut so deep?

Action Ends Suffering
The suffering caused by Yesterday's Gravity isn't just emotional—it's practical.
It's the promotion not asked for, the idea never shared, the side hustle or biz never started.
It's the mental brain drain of battling old news instead of creating possibilities.
Yesterday’s Gravity
Our suffering continues because gravity doesn't respond to wishes—it only yields to Action.
When we stand still, Yesterday's Gravity holds us tight.
But when we move, we can break free.
Every action creates Momentum.
That Momentum builds self-trust which changes how you see yourself, revealing your Zone of Power: Where your passion and energy meet your skills and capabilities.
So LEX…
What's one step you can take to defy Yesterday's Gravity?
